Where can I find the FileOpen installation Instructions?

Why does FileOpen require an open Internet connection?

Each time you open a Digitally Managed document the document will check you permissions prior to opening. If the permissions cannot be checked to document will not open.

How do I get more information regarding FileOpen?

Where can I find Plug-Ins compatible with my operating system such as Mac or Linux?

My document opened fine yesterday and today it no longer opens?

This can be one of a few reasons:

1.   It could be the document you have is out of date and a newer version exists for downloading.

2.   The document may not be able to see your Internet connection, please check your firewall settings.

3.   Some Digitally Managed documents are subscription based and the subscription may have expired.

4. The plugin you are using may not be the most current version, uninstall the current version and install the latest version located here http://plugin.fileopen.com/all.html.

Can I use the document when I am offline?

No. When you open a document you require an open Internet connection.

Is it possible to forward the document to another computer?

Yes, but be aware that if you do that it will be the backup document you forward if the document already have been opened on your own computer.

We have purchased one registration and when someone else logs into their login the registered machine (networked) it will not operate.

Each registration is unique to the user and the machine. For more than one person to use the catalogue on the same machine an additional registration is required.  

Is it possible to print when I am offline?

No, when printing the documents you need to have an open Internet connection.

Does printing just one page count as one the one allowed print?

Yes. Every time you print from the document, from one to all of the pages, it will count as the one allowed print.

When I try to open the document I am not automatically taken to the FileOpen download page?

In the email we sent you there is a direct link to the plugin download area or click on the following link http://plugin.fileopen.com/all.html.

Do I need to install FileOpen every time I update the catalogue?

No, once the Plug-In is installed on your computer you will be able to open future editions without installing again. Be aware that you need to have an open Internet connection each time you open a new document for the first time.

I have changed my email address will this affect my File Open registration?

No this will not affect your registration. If you change your email address contact us so as we can keep you informed of any future updates.

I am having trouble with my registered machine. It worked before and it no longer works how can I fix it?

This may be caused by a few things, especailly if you have upgraded to Adobe Reader X. Uninstall the FileOpen plugin and install the new version located here http://plugin.fileopen.com/all.html   

My computer has been replaced and I still require access to the documents?
